Today, we said goodbye to beautiful Dali and began our journey back to Kunming. As much as I loved the laid-back vibe of Dali, it was time to slowly make our way back to where this adventure began.

Our destination today was Dali, but instead of going straight there, we detoured to Shaxi Ancient Town – a very pretty, little quiet ancient town on the historic Tea Horse Ancient Road, a caravan route that once connected Yunnan with Tibet and beyond.
