Day 5 – Staying South

Day 5 of our trip to Taiwan consists of, finally, more locations this time. 4 to be exact, that being a visit to Hehuanshan in the wee hours of the morning, then Cingjing farm, then Lukang Old Street before headed to watch the sunset at Gaomei Wetlands and retiring at our accomodation at TREEART Hotel. All this spans across the Nantou and Changhua Counties and Taichung City. Enjoy!

8D7N Yunnan: Kunming, Dali, Lijiang & Shangri-La

I’ve always dreamed of travelling to Yunnan, China, especially Shangri‑La. A few years ago I had flights and accommodation booked for Kunming/Shangri‑La, but then COVID hit and the trip was cancelled. This year I really wanted to go on a long trip to China – so Yunnan it is.

From the moment we arrived, the views were so breathtaking that they left both my husband and me completely in awe.

Day 3 : Lijiang

Today is another early early start. Today’s destination was Jade Dragon Snow Mountain, and we needed to reach the base by 8 am sharp. That meant morning call at 6am, breakfast at 6.15 am and leaving the hotel by 7 am. Excited for the day ahead, especially excited to finally see snow (or so we thought).

Day 2 : Kunming – Dali – Lijiang

This morning, we officially set off for Lijiang, with a stopover in Dali along the way.

In my previous post, I shared the pros of booking a tour package. Now, let’s talk about one of the cons as quoted by my hubby being “herded around like cows/sheep.”

Wake up call is set at a specific time, you have to be down for breakfast by a set time, and be ready to leave the hotel for the next destination by a set time. It’s like clockwork… Move, move, move. Go, go, go.
