Day 5 of our trip to Taiwan consists of, finally, more locations this time. 4 to be exact, that being a visit to Hehuanshan in the wee hours of the morning, then Cingjing farm, then Lukang Old Street before headed to watch the sunset at Gaomei Wetlands and retiring at our accomodation at TREEART Hotel. All this spans across the Nantou and Changhua Counties and Taichung City. Enjoy!

Our 6th and final day of our trip to Taiwan consists of 3 locations, Tamsui Old Street then, finally, the long awaited… Taipei 101 before finally heading back to Taoyuan Airport for departure at midnight for an overnight flight back to Singapore. This means we’ll be headed from the far South of our travels back to the far North. Enjoy!

I’ve always dreamed of travelling to Yunnan, China, especially Shangri‑La. A few years ago I had flights and accommodation booked for Kunming/Shangri‑La, but then COVID hit and the trip was cancelled. This year I really wanted to go on a long trip to China – so Yunnan it is.
That being said, I am too busy and too lazy to plan out a free and easy itinerary and do comparisons between agencies and check out reviews etc, I decided to book a package tour that would cover all the places I wanted to see without the stress.
This will be the main post explaining the trip’s details.

Today, we said goodbye to beautiful Dali and began our journey back to Kunming. As much as I loved the laid-back vibe of Dali, it was time to slowly make our way back to where this adventure began.

Today, after breakfast, we said goodbye to Shangri-La. Our destination today was Dali, but instead of going straight there, we detoured to Shaxi Ancient Town – a very pretty, little quiet ancient town on the historic Tea Horse Ancient Road, a caravan route that once connected Yunnan with Tibet and beyond.

Today took us deep into the mountains surrounding Shangri-La, to one of the region’s most spectacular and lesser-known destinations – Balagezong Scenic Area. If you’re planning a visit to Shangri-La and love nature as much as I do, this is a place you really shouldn’t miss.
From the moment we arrived, the views were so breathtaking that they left both my husband and me completely in awe.

Day 3 : Lijiang
Today is another early early start. Today’s destination was Jade Dragon Snow Mountain, and we needed to reach the base by 8 am sharp. That meant morning call at 6am, breakfast at 6.15 am and leaving the hotel by 7 am. Excited for the day ahead, especially excited to finally see snow (or so we thought).

This morning, we officially set off for Lijiang, with a stopover in Dali along the way.
In my previous post, I shared the pros of booking a tour package. Now, let’s talk about one of the cons as quoted by my hubby being “herded around like cows/sheep.”
Wake up call is set at a specific time, you have to be down for breakfast by a set time, and be ready to leave the hotel for the next destination by a set time. It’s like clockwork… Move, move, move. Go, go, go.
