YH’s TIBUT – Pt 4 – Holidays and the NE SHOW

Hello and welcome to YH’s TIBUT, standing for “Yong Hong’s Things I’ve been up to”! This is a post that I will commonly write whenever its been about a month or a few months to recap what I’ve been up to and show you some pictures I’ve taken. I will still right independent posts when required but usually, these will be the posts you will see. I didn’t want every post like this to be named “Photo Collages”, so I created a name for it. Let’s get into it then.

Introduction – They refunded our NE Show?

I know the most important part about this post should be the amazing holidays I went for, which I will elaborate on later, but A MIRACLE HAPPENED! They gave us our NE Show back, and god am I grateful for it. Granted, it has been 6 days, but I had bundles of fun that. Granted^2, I was sat next to 2 random girl groups, but it was amazing.

Anyways, moving on to the holidays. We went to Genting (again) and Tioman. Frankly, Genting will never get old, Im never going to stop going there, and despite the fact there’s nothing to do, the (cold) embrace of the clouds is enough to welcome me back. I remember a few things from Tioman, that being clear water and a sick live band. Lets get into it

NE Show 2024 – Patriotic Pandemonium

I refuse to wait any longer to ramble about my NE Show experience

Literally the best thing to ever happen to me, maybe before getting into SST… and going on that road trip… and OBS… Okay maybe not the best thing to happen to me. But I GUARENTEE YOU ITS IN THE LIST!

Somewhere.

Seeing that sea of red for your own eyes is excitement enough, not to mention the performances, the jets and helicopters flying over you, the red lions gliding over you. Theres so much to talk about and so little words to express it. Rehearsal or not, it seemed like the real thing, no faults. It was amazing, loved it, dont know how I would’ve lived the rest of my life if they didnt refund it. THANK YOU SINGAPORE (or the government) (or whoever made this fantastic decision)

CAWWWWWWWW

I love Singapore.

Genting – All-Encapsulating Visit

Genting Highlands! Who doesn’t love Genting Highlands? Its the premier holiday destination for the citizens of ASEAN nations, particularly Singaporean’s, hence is the reason I’ve written about it like, multiple times already. Ive come up with almost a sort of ranking system for holidays, it goes like this.

  1. Relaxation – No exploration, learning of cultures, walking around, visiting places. One resort, bed, TV and a lot of beer. Genting falls under this category
  2. Neutral – Most of your time is likely spent relaxing at the resort, but you have the option of heading out and exploring the nearby town/walking around and exploring. Lexis Hibiscus sort of falls under this category
  3. Exploration – You’re almost always on the road, exploring the place, eating food, going out for the entire day before returning to your hotel room to sleep. Our Thailand road trip falls under this (Please go read the blog its my magnum opus)

Without further ado, let’s have a look at the photos taken and attractions visited across our 4 day visit to Genting Highlands.

Its actually good?

Pulau Tioman – Land of Clear Waters

Maldives and Tioman. Thats now 2 places with extremely clear water I’ve visited. Not just that, Tioman in itself is a beautiful island. The views of the mountains, the sunset views, the island etc etc. Lets look at the photos, with a few photos of Mersing included too.

One thing that I have to add. On Tioman, there’s one place you NEED to visit for dinner. On Fridays and Saturdays (if I remember correctly), there is a live band at the a dinner place called “Sunset Bar”. If you look at the 4th photo from the left in the collage below, the building on the far left is the aforementioned place. Why do I mention the live band? Because it is AMAZING, and I MEAN that.

Conclusion – More to come?

I have a message which I’ll reiterate here. Its been 7 months since I posted on this blog, but Im far from finished with it. I still love photography, I still love using this blog to write and show the pictures I have. Am I going to promise this random spur of motivation will show up again in the coming months, no. Am I going to promise that I’ll try my best to write more here, sure.

So many more things to photograph, so many more things to do, and a 2k clicks milestone to hit. With that, see ya~
