Singapore to Koh Samui with Ax: Part 2

Day 2: 2016-12-11
We left early in hopes of avoiding the jam at Bukit Kayu Hitam. Been many years since i rode to Thailand and thus don’t know what to expect.

Early refuel at 6am +
Reached Gurun at 7am plus++
Brought our insurance + done up the documentation here
My buddy Ax in high spirits

Reached the Customs in a short ride.
Cleared Malaysia with ease.
After crossing no man’s land, found it a total mess!
So basically what happened is;
1) We parked our bikes somewhere after the place to chop passport by the roadside
2) Joined the queue (consisting of majority Malaysia tourists) on foot
3) After clearing the immigration control, went to queue at a second queue to clear our bikes (Customs)

All in all a horrifying experience, we took around 1 hours plus to clear Thai side border.

queue standing on the road
where i left my bike while walking back to chop my passport
Mayhem!

After clearing the Customs, i did a quick check; we had to reach Surat Thani to catch the 4pm ferry, else it will be dark.

Thus the race to reach Surat Thani begins….
Smoke break at road side
Refuel at one of no name family run petrol station
Reached Raja Ferry port around 3 plus, quickly brought tickets
2 bikes waiting for ferry
Ax bumming around
Many locals in the queue
OK ferry arrived, finally loaded onto 1 corner
Full sia.. so many vehicles
So we left our bikes below and made our way up for the 1.5 hour journey (if i rem correctly)
Reaching Koh Samui finally!
Approaching the pier
After riding out of the ferry, 1st thing to refuel 1st lol
streets of Koh Samui
Quickly ride to Lamai beach, where we will be staying for the next few days
View from Lamai Beach, Koh Samui
Picture of our resort
After unpacking, went to Lamai beach street in search of dinner and called it a day
