Cycling trip from Yishun to Marina Bay Sands

Explanation

Hello there, i am going to need some time to explain what is going on today. So, because it was not raining on this Saturday, we being me and my dad decided to go cycling to MBS ( AKA Marina Bay Sands ). It was all in all a 50 to 55 km trip that took 9 hours ( including detours that you will learn about later ) So, lets go.

Start of a journey

I’m ready to go off

so, at 12:45, we were down stairs and ready to depart on our ( longer than expected ) trip to MBS. I was definitely very determined to finish this trip and get that satisfaction of seeing MBS.

COOL

After cycling for about 20 minutes, we had already reached the Lower Seletar Reservoir Park, at this point, none of us were tired but we knew that a long road was ahead. A 9 hour trip was not what i was expecting though…..

Tire punctured, what now?

hmmm

look, you probably cant see what’s going on so i will explain, not even a quarter of a way through, my dads bike had punctured a tire, oops, luckily my dad brought a spare tire and fixed it. Despite this however, my dad said that we probably should go back home as he did not know if the tire would puncture again. But… I rejected

I told him that i waited the ENTIRE WEEK for this and was not giving up for a bike…… malfunction? So, we had checked google maps and found that Ang Mo Kio ( Our next stop to MBS ) had a few bicycle shops that we could go to to find the things to fix the bike properly. Sooooo, lets go

Ang Mo Kio!!!!!
SHOP

So, after a few detours and 1 failed bike shop, we were feeling a little worried, what if we could not find the things we needed to fix the bike?! Well, that was an if question. We finally found a bike shop and fixed the bike, after that we were finally back on the road. WHOO!

OH, and of course after a drink

Back on track

All right, here’s the thing, wish i could talk more but i have other stuff to do, i will only talk for the important things. Other than that, pictures

Kallang Park Connecter, around Bishan i think,
Weird architecure
MRT Depot i suppose
Cant tell if its a river or not

Alright so, you may not be able to see it, but in the next picture, you should be able to see the flyer and the hotel in the distance. ALMOST THERE.

Next to the temple on the right

Almost there….

Took a scenic detour to East Coast Park, going to venture through Gardens By The Bay to reach MBS
And there it stood in all its glory, Marina Bay Sands
Ariel image, Gardens by the bay and the supertrees now in view slightly
Over the walkway to Marina Barrage
Entrance to MBS shops
F1 Racing track, home of legends

The end of a journey

Pizza for dinner
Last but not least, my favorite picture taken with the hotel looming at the back. Beautiful

And that is all. I really think that i was a really long but nice trip, a great chance to bond with my father and cycle at the same time. Very nice and a achievement nonetheless.

Results ( estimated, the phone recording it stoped ) 50 to 55km in 9 or so hours ( including detour to bike shop in Ang Mo Kio )

Review: This trip was amazing, from Yishun to MBS is a pretty long trip depending on your skill set and endurance. I would say it’s about medium difficulty but the payoff is amazing, finally seeing the hotel in the distance is a great feeling, definitely would recommend if your thinking about doing it
