Day at Sungei Buloh ( 26/9/2020)

Hello, and welcome back to the blog, todayi will be blogging about my trip to Sungie Buloh Wetland Reserve

EXPLANATION

Alright, two things before we start

  1. Yes, I know that this is a little late but i was busy, and my memory might be a little foggy but I will try to remember.
  2. This blog is going to be just a little long as we did not spend the ENTIRE DAY there ( that will be explained later )

So, as i was saying, we did not spend the entire day there as intially, it looked like it was going to rain. So…..

Mario Kart!!!!!!!

but this is about Sungei Buloh, not about Mario Kart. So lets get to it

THE REAL GAME STARTS

oooooooh

So, after a long taxi ride, we had finally reached Sungei Buloh Wetland Reserve. So, after that, we realized behind the check in counter there was a little dome, so we decided to go inside.

woah

After a quick read through, we realized that we were in September. AND THERE WERE MIGRATORY BIRDS IN SEPTEMBER!!! 2 ACTUALLY. This was great, that meant that we could actually see MIGRATORY BIRDS. WHOOOOOO

picture is small due to camera reasons

So, we decided to go to the toilet as apparently there were not any there were not any inside. We saw a river on the way, it was cool but we did not inspect it too much.

BIRD

So, apparently, after closer inspection, we found a bird, YAY ANIMAL……… But that was not all, there was a log in the middle of the river with something in it. WHAT WAS THAT!

WOAH

So, i did not know about anything, but i was pretty sure that it was a monitor lizard, so we walked away assuming that. ha

alright, THIS IS THE REAL GAME

COOL RIVER

We were in a forest, there was a cool shade of light, so we followed it and saw an amazing river. IT WAS SO COOL!!!!!

hide???

After we walked across the bridge, we saw a building with main hide on it. Immediately, i thought, WHAT IS A HIDE. We walked in side and saw a lookout of an ENITRE RESERVE ( or i think thats what it was….. )

BIRDS AND OTHER STUFF

WHITE birds……

On the horizon, we saw a few white dots, i used my camera to zoom in but still could not see anything. WHAT WAS IT.

Luckily, we had brought a tool for situations like this…….

BINOCULARS

Yup, we actually brought binoculars, turns out that this trip would turn in bird watching…… Anyways, we saw that they definitely white birds in the distance. We spent a little while here before we decided to leave

So, after that, we were walking before we saw a turn in the road and walked inside, turns out it was a observation screen

Oooooh

So, after close inspection with our binoculars, we saw….

more white birds, Yay………………………………………………..

Alright, we went on a lot of these screens and hides, but i wont “document” all of these. LETS CONTINUE

Nice

By now, we had walked by a lot of these mangrove trees and did not really see anything, we were looking out for any animals by the river or in the trees, but nothing….. till now.

Bridge……………

Finally, something interesting, i guess. We decided to go on inside and see what was up…..

MIDDLING, I GUESS

MALAYSIA

So, apparently, this wetland reserve was on the edge, yes edge, of Singapore. So, this was definitely Malaysia. COOL

*crab rave intensifies*

We were inspecting the water when we finally found a crab wait, what!! A CRAB, woah…. It was stuck to the tree in the water. i immediately thought of that song….. Crab Rave. It was pretty cool, so we just went on.

excuse me….

WAIT, CROCODILES!!! Man, first it was wild boars, now it crocs, WHATS NEXT. Whatever, so, here we were walking for a little while. We did past a hide, but nothing important there. The only important thing was THIS

FISHY

DEJA VU

That’s a lot of fish, anyway, after this we were also walking for a little while before Deja vu decided to attack me

a tower, where have i seen that before

hmmmmmmm

familiar right……

Anyway, back to the blog. Normally i dont climb things like this but it definitely was not as tall as chestnut and it would be nice for my binoculars…….. AH FECK IT, LETS JUST GO ALREADY.

nice

You know what…… that climb, i think it was pretty worth it for the view. So, we may or may not have spent 20 minutes up there birdwatching BUT that dosent matter. After that, we were back on the road…

ENDING TIME

Wait what

Alright, so apparently. There was a mudskipper here, but i cannot see ANYTHING HERE. Sooooooo, whatever, she was happy, i was happy. And we were back on track again

wait, we are done…..

Oh, well thats sad, I DID NOT SEE ANY crocodiles, sadness…………….

mmmm

I guess this was the only crocodile i saw * sadness intensifies *

maybe not, there’s more

So, pretty much. This was not enough, We decided to go on the coastal trail. And i think it was pretty cool, lets go!!

turtle, tortoise, terrapin, whatever it is….

OK, so let me explain, we were going to the trail and stopped by the river to visit the bird when we saw a ( WHATEVER IT IS ). COOL, i guess.

MAP ( We were going to the red one )
trail length ( we went on the yellow one )

Alright, before long. We went past to a bridge leading to a platform leading to a……. stretchy, longie bridgy thing…..

whatever this is

Alright, walked past this, walked back out the bridge, continued on. And then i finally saw it, the first thing i saw when i googled this place……

MORE COOL THINGS

AN ONION, pod, thingy

I am very disappointed, you wanna know why. CAUSE THERE WAS NOTHIJNG INSIDE, IT WAS EMPTY AHHHHHHHH ( pls don’t take this seriously, its a joke, if you could not tell. ). Anyways, we walked, and walked, and walked. To a bridge apparently opposite to yup….

MALAYSIA

I will admit, this view is SO MUCH COOLER. OH and……

Another ( still empty ) onion. yay

Alright, by this time. I checked the map and realized that we were almost done so for now. QUICKFIRE PICTURES

talllllllllll tree
trail of ants
ANDDDDD END

OK, this is all we did to day, just a quick conclusion. After this, we took a bus to Causeway Point, ate in a restaurant called Bali Thai, got home at 8 to 9 p.m, and slept. My shoulder hurts….

CONCLUSION

So, again, here are some more cool pitures i liked before i end off

MALAYSIA
Me on mud bridge

Alright, i am tired so here is review time

REVIEW TIME

Look, i dont know if i mentioned this but this place is cool, if i were to rate it on pure aesthetics, probably a 9.5/10. BUT THATS NOT ALL, i brought my binoculars here and due to the cool types of birds and animals there, it really changed my thought of this.

So look, all in all, my experience here ( with binoculars, keep that in mind ) is a 11/10!!!!!!! I really really had a hard time thinking of a good review but i feel like the birdwatching, the thought of the hundreds maybe thousands of migratory birds, the scenery, the tower and the rivers i see. I REALLY FEEL LIKE HIS WAS ALL AROUND AMAZING. If you were to go here, bring binoculars if you have, and take pictures of the species of birds ( there are signs telling you about them ) and your experience here will almost guaranteed be good ( if you like birdwatching )

just like to reiterate, this was amazingly amazing, Chestnut was amazing but i think this was definitely great. Go try it, in MY OPINION, it is great. SEE YOU
