Solo motorcycle road trip on Northern Thailand: Part 4 (Final)

Day 4: Nan -> Lampang -> Chiang Mai

Time to go back to Chiang Mai, covered all the places I wanted to so this is the final leg back to complete the loop.

Today is R&R although the distance is almost the same as previous days, it through mostly flat lands so the speeds will be faster.

Richmond Nan hotel, best in Nan!
Free breakfast in beautiful environment
Went to checkout the old Nan city wall before departing

Uneventful ride, flat roads all the wayyyy…

Limestone like cliffs remind me of southern Thailand

Suppose to detour Lampang, as its approaching lunch time, decided to go to Lampang for some retail treatment.

MK shabu shabu for lunch! The meat alone almost couldnt finish!

Saw this enroute back, questioned myself should I turn left…

Reached Chiang Mai after deciding against going to Bangkok. Luckily it’s Sunday so there’s a huge night market going on to nurse my PAD (Post Adventure Depression).

Suddenly like so many tourists.
The temples (Wats) within the city walls were turned to foodcourts.

The next day rode up to Wat Phrathat Doi Kham to pray pray: https://goo.gl/maps/CcYhGXuUP1xNqGaC7

After lunch returned the Honda Forza 350 to Pop Rider. Total 1477 kms covered for this solo trip.

Great ride: Forza 350

Really felt great to ride the northern Thailand roads after 2 years of covid lockdowns. Thailand roads are mostly well paved and the northern mountainous parts are filled with amazing scenery. Especially memoriable for me are the Route 1149 crossing over to Myanmar, Golden Triangle, Mekong River, Phu Chi Fa crossing over to Laos and Route 1081 @ Bo Kluea.

The Honda Forza 350 was great; electronic adjustable windscreen, more power then my previous Burgman 200. Kudos to Pop Rider, this time round their bike has topbox, phone holder etc.

Till the next road trip.
