Context needed here. We went to quite a few places during the past 2-4 weeks, and I never really found time to write about it, so I’ll compile it all in this blog post if I can remember anything. It has been a while.
Really random fun fact before I start, I’m listening to random music on my playlist, and I realise that the music played on the Fallout 4 radio is really good. ANYWAYS
Jurassic Mile 2
In a “bygone era,” an attraction near Changi opened called Jurassic Mile, and it was extremely popular. After a while, they placed a few more dinosaurs along the road from Jurassic Mile to Hub&Spoke (A small cafe at the very end). My dad and I never really got to finding out where it was so we never went, until now. On the taxi back home after landing in Singapore after my dad’s trip to Thailand, he spotted where the dinosaurs resided. So not too long after, we grabbed our bikes to cycle past it.
May 26th, which was a few days into the school holiday, we arranged to go cycle there! We parked at one of the various carparks along the stretch of East Coast and started to ride. Nothing fascinating happened until we got to the new dinosaurs as we had already seen the previous dinosaurs.

This baby spinosaurus was our first sign we were on the right track. There seemed to be a lot of dinosaurs ahead, so we took a picture and headed on.

Palaeontology is the science concerning fossils such as dinosaurs, it looks like this was a depiction of a dig site!

I would enlighten you with some knowledge about these dinosaurs, but I genuinely don’t know what they are, so we’re moving on. At this point, the dinosaurs seemed to be aplenty, we were quite happy about that fact!
The infamous T-Rex Big Spinosaurus
Ah yes, dinosaur fans may know that both these dinosaurs have a sort of “Rivalry” concerning who’s cooler and more powerful.
Fun Fact, the spinosaurus is historically bigger than the T-Rex, but the Tyrannosaurus is more widely known and more powerful. This T-Rex stood at 3.9 metres tall and the spinosaurus even had animatronics!

After this there were more dinosaurs, including a 3.5 metre tall Diplodocus, which is basically a cooler brachiosaurus, and a Pachycephalosaurus. I didn’t manage to capture these dinosaurs though, for some reason, so they won’t be appearing (oops).
Anyways, we headed to the Hub&Spoke cafe for some lemon tea before we made our way back to East Coast Park to return home. It was a really amazing trip and despite me not being actively into dinosaurs, I still enjoyed it quite a lot.
Singapore Botanical Gardens (Learning Forest)
On the Saturday of that week, specifically May 28th, we visited Botanical Gardens, again. This time however, we took a different route. For those familiar of the area, we took a right turn at the toilet instead of going left. (vague ik)
After walking like two steps, we were greeted by this nice scenery and a cool river. Our destination was that bridge up there, we had quite a ways to go though.

Considering how we’re legit in a forest, we encountered a rooster! Malaysia was about to ban chicken exports on June 1st (now partially lifted), so I started to joke around. I’m such a comedy genius….
Through the power of horrible storytelling and bad writing skills, we have reached the aforementioned bridge, HURRAH. After a climb up a not steep but windy road, we were on the bridge with a great view of where we were before, in that shelter in the second picture.

Where to next?
After reaching our destination, we went on to explore some more. We spotted a huge flight of stairs and out of curiosity, we climbed them.
Basically they strung some nets in between the trees and the platform, pretty cool. Obviously I (Hesitantly) jumped on and took a few pictures while I was at it. In my hubris, I thought it would be funny if I posted on Instagram while sitting on a tree. Not the coolest thing I’ve done but whatever.
After we climbed down from the trees, we started making our way back to the car, not before a cool waterfall shot though. Now, we had to think of dinner, and we had a pretty great idea.
Marche Movenpick!
For the uninitiated, Marche is basically a “All You Can Eat”. Basically, they give you a card which you give to the people manning the different stalls, and that’s how you buy the food. The card is basically an unpaid tab which you give to the cashier when you’re done and they’ll charge you then. Pretty smart if I do say so myself
Normally I wouldn’t talk about food, but it has been at least like 5 years since we ate Marche when I was a mere child, so I decided to talk about it I guess.
Undocumented but the line was LONG, even after we ate finish, the lines were still going, and it was about 7-8pm by then, not surprising though. I ate some spaghetti carbonara and mushroom soup+garlic bread. The food was INSANE, some of the best spaghetti I’ve had surprisingly, the interior was very pretty and the atmosphere was great. I’m not Gordon Ramsey, but I would recommend it!
Since it was nighttime, Sentosa was all lit up, and it was really cool! The pictures I took were pretty decent.
Ending
Originally I was gonna write about a unfinished walk we took along the Walace trail which was interrupted by monkeys, but I decided against it, didnt feel like writing about something we didnt finish. Other than this, I also did go to the movies along with my dad, but I’ll write about that in a stand-alone blog, a lot of things to say. Look out for that post, which should hopefully be out soon if I don’t procrastinate.
