Sentosa Foodfest – The most bustling place in Singapore

From 21 October to 13 November, Sentosa hosted an event called Sentosa Foodfest. Sadly this food fest is over, but my family and I went there 2 times to eat food, I guess, what else. It was a pretty cool place! A lot of good food, although quite troublesome to get around due to the LARGE amounts of people. Let’s get into it

Day 1

The first day we went was on 29 October instead of the 21st because we hoped the crowd would have died down along with the hype. It turns out we were sorely wrong. Arriving at Sentosa at 7:28 pm when the event opens at 5 pm may not have been the best idea. The crowd was shockingly large. I knew there would be more than a lot of people, but nothing could have prepared me for the traffic jam along the path.

The pathway was lit with lights, and there were tents alongside the path where you could buy your food. There were rows of tables opposite the stalls where people could sit and eat. If you couldn’t find a seat, the food was given to you in a container so you could walk away or stand up while eating.

Near the carpark and end of the path were “pavilions” where there were a lot of tables for you to sit and enjoy your food. After exploring the entire path, we U-turned back to the start to order some food and eat.

The 2 “pavilions” had lights strung over the tables and entertainment too! The place where we sat today was next to a night show which would frequently have some fireworks. It was tedious having to deal with the crowd, but at least the food was good!

Day 2

We decided to go again the next week, but just a bit earlier. We arrived at 5:32 pm, right around when the event started. Sadly, this did not change too much. When we got there, the end of the path was already pretty backlogged…

This time, instead of sitting at the front, we went to the beach.

The beach was lined with cool circular lights, while the inside was decorated with lights and even an arcade! Yet again, the food was worth all the pain of the crowd and the queue. After the food and listening to the live music being played, we went for a stroll on the beach!

Misty beach, purple lights!

Conclusion

Welp, it’s too bad that Foodfest is over, but dang it was pretty fun. Of course, the crowd was a pretty big problem, but I think the food and the feel made it worth it. We’ll be going to Phuket in 3 days as of writing this, so expect a long blog. Until then, stay safe and wear your seatbelt.
