Hello and welcome to YH’s TIBUT, standing for “Yong Hong’s Things I’ve been up to”! This is a post that I will commonly write whenever it’s been about a month or a few months to recap what I’ve been up to and show you some pictures I’ve taken. I will still write independent posts when required, but usually, these will be the posts you will see. I didn’t want every post like this to be named “Photo Collages,” so I created a name for it. Let’s get into it then.
Introduction – Welcome to the New Year! (Its been 7 months)
Welcome to July, more like it.
Remember when I said I’d only post here when I felt like it? And that I’d only post here when I have motivation? This is taking it to an extreme. 7 full months, I’ve done things aplenty, so this is gonna be a lot of stuff crammed into one blog post. Its been an eventful 2024, very fun to say the least, so I have a lotta photos and stories. Let’s begin (in no specific order)
Rainy SG – Stuck under Nicoll Highway
Singaporean’s love(d) cycling. Remember Covid19 and 2020/2021? Everybody and their dog was cycling back in the day, cross-island, to their local park etc etc. Fun fact, my most viewed blog post is actually one about cycling, specifically from Yishun to MBS (it has 3000+ views)
Speaking about MBS, we’re doing it again! However, this time, we’re skipping the whole Lentor-AMK stretch because, to be frank, YCK to AMK feels like its constantly under construction and ridden with blind spots, its not fun to ride through. So, we parked at the Bishan stadium and started at the Bishan-AMK Park Connector.
But this isn’t what this post is about, it was a great cycle, but we’re here to talk about the rain. Around the National Stadium stretch of the cycle, we were met with some DARK rain clouds and, not long after the terrible, horrendous decision to continue with our cycle, it started to rain. Cycle cycle cycle, run run run all the way to Nicoll Highway which we hid under just in time for the thunderstorm.
The thing about the underneath of Nicoll Highway, is that you have a view of the entire CBD, MBS, the Singapore Flyer AND the F1 track. The proceeding images speak for themselves.

GBTB and MBS – Visit 1, 2, 3, 4 (and probably more)
A trend we’ve noticed since the start of 2024 is us and GBTB. If I were to recall, we’ve visited GBTB like… probably 3-4 maybe 5 times already this year, and we’ve had a lot of dinners at Satay By The Bay. We visited the “River Hongbao” event when it was set up there, we were there multiple times just to walk around. Take a look at the photos.

Jewel – Tallest Man-made waterfall
I’d be willing to wager I’ve subtitled one of my paragraphs with this exact sentence. Am I going to prove myself right? No. Its quite clear where this is going, Jewel is a beautiful airport, and we Singaporeans are extremely proud of our airport.

SOTA – Open House Endeavors
The School of the Arts. As is for every school before and after Covid19, they hosted an open house which allowed me to visit their particularly, famously beautiful campus to take photos (And go listen about the school but whatever).
In all seriousness, the school follows some very admirable morals and seems like a fantastic school, but Im not here to review the school and their open house programmes, you’d have gone to KiasuParents.com. Instead, Im here to show you photos

Sentosa – Cross-Island Walk (NEW!!!)
When in doubt, walk from Vivocity to Sentosa, cover the full breadth of Sentosa and then return
The last time I went on this very same walk was OCTOBER 2023. I was under the impression it was Feburary minimum, last year is just insane. The sheer pace at which time passes nowadays is inexplicable, truly. This time, they had recently finished construction on their new “Sentosa Sensoryscape”, a point to point attraction which cuts through the length of Sentosa, from the entrance to the beach. It’s a pretty beautiful place, granted it’s a million dollar attraction, here’s some photos

Miscellaneous Endeavors – Here and There and Here THEN There
Now, we proceed to all the other photos I have stored in my camera which don’t serve much of a story of their own. Going out during Labour Day to buy pencils for SOTA DSA, some random Sunday’s which we spent mostly at home but some time spent out and about car-spotting. Without further ado, here we go

Conclusion – More to come?
I have one more post I’ll be writing after this about holidays and my NE Show experience, but I have a message which I’ll also reiterate there. Its been 7 months since I posted on this blog, but Im far from finished with it. I still love photography, I still love using this blog to write and show the pictures I have. Am I going to promise this random spur of motivation will show up again in the coming months, no. Am I going to promise that I’ll try my best to write more here, sure.
So many more things to photograph, so many more things to do, and a 2k clicks milestone to hit. With that, see ya~
