8D7N Yunnan (Kunming, Dali, Lijiang, Shangri-La)

I have always wanted to go to Yunnan and most importantly Shangri-La. 2/3 years ago, I had air tickets and accommodation booked for Kunming/Shangri-La but covid hit and the trip had to be cancelled. This year, I really wanted to go on a long trip to China, so Yunnan it is.

That being said, I am too busy and too lazy to plan out a free and easy itinerary and do comparisons between agencies and check out reviews etc, sooo the quick and easy way is to book a package tour. This will be the main post explaining the trip’s details.

Day 2 : Kunming – Dali – Lijiang

In my previous post, I mentioned the pros of booking a tour package. Now, one of the cons of booking a tour package is that you have to stick to the itinerary – quote hubby – “-be “herded” around like cows/sheeps.” Wake up call is set at a specific time, you have to be down for breakfast by a set time, and be ready to leave the hotel for the next destination by a set time. It’s like clockwork… move move move…. go go go.

Singapore is a constantly changing country with housing, industrial and recreational projects left and right (although mostly just BTO). In the recreational sector, this includes the, as of this post, freshly revamped Jurong Lake Gardens and freshly introduced Bidadari Park. Most Singaporeans know of Jurong Lake Gardens, in fact, many have likely bemoaned its long… long renovation process. Bidadari is a new residential area which is slowly building itself up to house Singapore’s ever-growing population. This and more in the following blog post!

To continue on the tradition of well documented solo motorcycle road trips, I decided to embark on another endeavor in the spirit of motorcycling.

Got a Honda Forza 350 🛵 in SG this time (after riding it in the northern Thailand trip two years back), found I like it a lot. So, since it’s the National day long weekend, so what else I can do to celebrate the birthday of my beloved nation of Singapore then to ride to Thailand through a different border? 🫨🫨
