Europe 2026, Day 8: Stonehenge

01-April-2026

Today we depart Manchester for London. Before that we will be making a detour to Stonehenge for sightseeing first. In order to reach London in time to return the rental car and get our AirBnB access (need specific timing to meet up with the agent), we woke early (4am?) and make the long drive with KT driving for the first leg of the journey.

Note – This is a part of a 12 Day Blog relating to my friend group’s trip around Europe and primarily the UK. See here

Along the way we stopped by a rest stop for breakfast at Mcdonalds.

As we are nearing Stonehenge, we made another stop and CK then took over the wheel. As we exit the highways and drive into the countryside, the scenery begins to evolve.

Upon arrival in Stonehenge, we bought the tickets and took a bus to the site. The scenery is amazing and KT called DY for live streaming also. 😂

After exploring Stonehenge, we bought some souvenirs and drank some Stonehenge beers. (it’s almost 11am for the beer check-in 🤣)

Since we were early, there’s plans to drive to Southampton but first we figured we need to get lunch first. We soon found a restaurant in nearby named The White Horse so we procced there for lunch. The place was really cozy and we found out it’s taken over by a Thai not long ago. JX and KT has really nice Thai curry at this place while I stuck to fish and chips.

During our time there, the lady boss was locked in a cellar accidentally and has to be rescued by CK & KT when they heard her banging on the locked door. How lucky to have us there hehe.

Post lunch we figured we might not have the time to make a detour to Southampton thus decided to proceed to London as earlier planned.

By the time we reached our AirBnB in London, the timing was just about right. Checked into our AirBnB which is a huge penthouse with view of the Emirates Stadium!

We quickly went to return the rental car and took the tube to Picadilly Circus. Fun Fact: we did not need to top up any diesel at all throughout! one full tank enough for our journey.

The China Town is HUGE compared to the one in Manchester and it’s VERY crowded. We found a Chinese restaurant where we got our dinner.

Ate one of the best noodles in this trip for me! Post dinner we wandered around and went to Selfridges Jelly Cat where we bought exclusive sets for our loved ones back home.

We headed back to our AirBnB and before that, bought some beers back to chill. Initially I wanted to get Asahi but was disallowed by KT as he deemed the Asahi 620ml bottle was too little compared to Birra Moretti’s bottle size of 660ml. 😂😂😂 (anyway JX and myself loved Birra Moretti’s taste, great beer)

2 more stadiums to go next day!
